When They Say They Love You

I've written long enough to know that not everyone will like what I write. Or even get what I was trying to convey. I'm finding that is doubly true when it comes to writing erotica. The nature of what the genre is brings up stuff for the reader. The desire is to light up their senses and get the juices flowing. To make them smile in the most mischievous of ways. But it doesn't always happen. Especially if the erotica includes a foray into bondage.

I won't pretend it doesn't matter. We all seek approval. Authors are not any different. We strive for 4 and 5 star reviews and we cringe when we get less. But when we get one that has an excerpt like this in it....well that sends the adrenalin racing in the most pleasurable of ways.  Especially when it comes from  someone who writes this stuff herself.

"I loved Ms. Dantes' story premise and her ability to let you see deeply into her character's minds. I found the following passage brilliant and it shows some of the author's insight into BDSM.
"Men had always complimented me. I had always known I was attractive. But there was something about listening to him say it while restrained and being forced to really look at me that magnified the experience.""

A Moment

I open the door and you are there
Your pale blue silk tie is loosened
Your collar unbuttoned
Your hands straddle the frame of the door
As if you have been waiting for hours

There is a moment
You do not smile at me
But I see it in your eyes
You circle my waist
Push me against the back of the door
As you shut it with one foot
One arm holding my hands behind me
The other locking each bolt
Securing the chain
Loosening the sash of my robe
